TAUNTON Titans return to Hyde Park for the first time in over a month when they entertain Cambridge in National League 2 today.

A lot has gone on in the last month with a few faces added to the Titans’ squad before the registration deadline including forwards Kieran Ball, Altan Ozdemir and backs Freddie Fraser, Chris Crane, Adam Conybeare and Sam Blanchett with most of them already making their debuts.

With one home game cancelled, of the three away games Taunton have won one and lost two but now they are back at home they are hoping to continue their unbeaten home record.

This home record will be put to another test this weekend when Taunton welcome Cambridge to Hyde Park for the first time in any competition.

Cambridge were relegated from National 1 last season where they had been playing for the last six seasons and at one stage were pushing for promotion into the Championship.

When the sides met in November the Titans suffered the highest score put on them this campaign in an entertaining game that produced no less than 13 tries and a final score 48-25.

Since that game Cambridge have suffered a bit of a dip in form and have slipped from second place to sixth – just one place above Taunton. They are separated by just two points.

So today should prove to be a cracking game with two teams who like to play running rugby and score tries.

The Hyde Park faithful will be able to cast their eyes on some of the new recruits and possibly see one of the old crowd favourites in back five forward Ollie Marriott.

Marriott made 23 appearances for Taunton in his time at the club and will be looking to do the double over his old team.

Taunton who know they didn’t really perform at their best when the teams met last time will be out for revenge and to keep their home record intact.
