THE former captain and president of Vivary Golf Club and much-respected life member, Eric Hood, has died at the age of 85.
It was only last month that Eric, a Yorkshireman who spent much of his life in the West Country, gifted to the club the Eric Hood Eclectic Trophy played over nine matches.
It will be seen as a great memorial to his attachment to the club and the community in which he lived and played a large part.
He was also a valued member of Oake Manor golf club.
