THE defensive trio of club captain Owen Irish, Ben Mammola and Steve Kingdon made the most starts for Taunton Town during the 2013-14 campaign.

All three started 45 league and cup games in total, with another member of the backline, Jamie Price, racking up 41 appearances.

However it was at the other end of the pitch where the most regular performers featured.

Jamie Short and Steve Murray played a part in 49 of Town’s 51 games despite often being named as a substitute.

Both featured in 40 of the 42 Calor Southern League fixtures and appearing in all nine cup ties played during the season, along with Irish and Rob Norrish.

Nat Pepperell finished as Town’s top scorer, notching 13 league and four cup goals for an overall tally of 17 while Murray also reached double figures after recording 15 goals.

Three players tied for third spot in the scoring charts – Chris Young, Ross MacNab and Kingdon collecting eight goals apiece.

The Peacocks used 30 players during the season.
