Craig Kieswetter suffers broken nose and fractured cheekbone after being struck in the face by ball
SOMERSET have confirmed that wicket-keeper Craig Kieswetter has suffered a broken nose and fractured cheek bone after being struck in the face by a delivery from David Willey yesterday.
The delivery from Willey snuck through the visor on Kieswetter's helmet forcing him to retire hurt on 14 not out.
Somerset have confirmed that tests and x-rays have shown a broken nose and a fractured cheek bone, which over the coming days will receive further attention by the necessary specialists - but added that Kieswetter is "in good health and is in a stable condition."
Director of Cricket, Dave Nosworthy said: “Craig is in very safe and capable hands at this time. These freak cricketing accidents happen from time to time and I am confident with the right care that he will come through this set back.
"Naturally Craig will no longer take part in this match, and I am thus sure that you will all join in – in wishing Craig a speedy recovery.”
