DANIEL Miles of Taunton AC finished first in the Longrun Meadow parkun on Saturday, making the most of ideal conditions to return a time of 18m 23s.

Jonathan Tipper was close behind in 18m 34s with Keith Paul of Taunton AC third in 18m 40s. The first female runner was Hannah Taunton of Taunton AC - for the 20th time - in 20m 12s.

Second was Catherine Wolfenden in 21m 42s and third Caroline Norris in 21m 58s. Among those recording personal bests were Emily White (25m 15s), Dean Smith (23m 14s), Paul Lambert (24m 15s), Nik Matravers (41m 45s), Sean Walton (24m 14s), Colin Robins (25m 17s), Valda Adams (36m 43s), Gabriel Matravers (30m 29s), Lesley Westgate (24m 04s), Ursula Green (25m 53s), Tracey Newbery (29m 03s), Louise Johnson (28m 50s), Neil Truby (28m 47s), James Nicholas (19m 33s), Steve Greaves (26m 52s), Daniel Milligan (22m 37s), Mike Date (26m 47s), Charlotte Allison (32m 24s) and David Howarth (26m 11s). A total of 280 runners took part including 26 first timers.

The best age grade scores were recorded by Lesley Westgate (24m 04s - 78.39%), Keith Paul (18m 40s - 78.39%) and Colin Coates (20m 15s 77.20%).

Finley Cooling (JM10) and Beth Wharton (JW10) completed their tenth parkruns - all of them at Longrun Meadow - and both finished in style with impressive bests of 27m 01s and 30m 57s respectively.

Lynn Cunningham collected her Sports Maker shirt today for completing ten hours volunteering. Lynn, who was today’s tail runner, has recently completed a 66 mile run. Ends
