OAKE Manor’s Junior Championship was held in atrocious weather but the youngsters battled it out to the end and the winner of the gross was 14-year-old Sam Loader while his 17-year-old sister Kathryn won the net.

Both the winners play in the Somerset county teams.

Proud parents Ian and Jill Loader, who both play at Oake themselves, said the family still very much enjoy the fun of playing a 4ball together on the course.

Ian is also instrumental in organising the juniors in their matches against other clubs.
