TAUNTON Titans will look to get back to winning ways at Hyde Park tomorrow but will be up against it as they take on Shelford who are fighting to get away from the wrong end of the table.

Shelford have been on a poor run of form lately but with injured players coming back and after a moral boosting victory last weekend over Canterbury, who beat the Titans last month, Shelford will make the long trip from Cambridge with nothing to fear.

With Shelford’s injury list reducing the Titans list is going the other way with both Jon Gatford and Marshall Cormack both picking up knocks in last weekend’s game against Redruth.

Both of these will be completing fitness tests before the team is announced along with Ratu ‘Toots’ Vakalutukali who is still struggling with his long term injury and is probably still a couple of weeks away.

A boost for the Titans sees Jake Woolmore return from his debut for Exeter Chiefs in the LV cup last weekend along with a new player who has been training with Taunton over since Christmas, James Newsam.

Newsam joined the training to see if he could play at a higher level as he has been playing for Dorchester this season.

He has impressed the coaches with his attitude and has earned a call up to the Titans squad to see what he can do.

Kick-off is 3pm for what could be another crucial fixture for Taunton and will need a good performance before they head into next week’s local derby against Dings Crusaders who are also fighting for points to climb the table.
