TAUNTON Rowing Club began their 2015 season with a trip to Cardiff for the ‘Head of the Taff’. The 3,200 metres course ran through the city, beginning in a park before passing the Millennium Stadium and ending in Cardiff Bay.
The weather was near perfect with blue skies and a light wind providing a near perfect day for rowing. Altogether 15 Taunton rowers took part in eight categories with ages from Under-16 to 70, including a junior mixed four (pictured above).
A major success of the day was a win by Sam Smith in a single scull. He was also back in action later with Kyran Foster in a double scull earning third place. TRC are currently based near French Weir. The clubcaters for all ages and skill levels with a strong focus on teaching youngsters and others to row.
