FOLLOWING the postponement of their Somerset Premier Cup quarter final tie at home to Frome Town on Tuesday evening, Taunton Town will hope for better luck tomorrow Saturday when they host Sholing in the Evo-Stik League (3pm).

Persistent rain had left the Viridor Stadium playing surface waterlogged, with standing water on large areas of the pitch, and with no prospect of any improvement the Frome game was called off late on Monday afternoon. A revised date for the tie will be announced shortly.

Meanwhile Town will be chasing a league double this weekend with the visit of current FA Vase holders Sholing who rejoined the Southern League this season after a one year absence.

The Peacocks recorded a 2-0 win at the Southampton club back in October and will be keen to earn another three points on Saturday in order to maintain the buffer between themselves in second place and the chasing pack headed by Evesham. Manager Leigh Robinson is expected to name the same squad that steered Town to victory over AFC Totton last weekend.

The returning Rob Norrish, who played 90 minutes for Cullompton Rangers on Saturday, may again play elsewhere to help regain match fitness but failing that will be added to the squad.
