THE Somerset Cricket Board are running their highly popular Player of the Month Award this season and are seeking applications for May.

The competition is open to all non-professional players playing for Somerset based teams and it could be a male or female club cricketer, school cricketer or representative cricketer, or a combination of all three.

There is no age limit and all nominations are welcome.

The prize for winning the May award will be an exclusive trip for two to The County Ground to watch Somerset in action against Nottinghamshire in the LV County Championship on Sunday 14th June.

A three course lunch and a bottle of wine in The County Room and an on pitch presentation by a Somerset professional will complete the experience for the deserving winner.

There are also prizes up for grabs for the players who come second and third each month thanks to Somerset County Sports.

A £15 gift voucher will be awarded to the Player of the Month runner up and £10 gift voucher to the third placed player.

The process for awarding the May Player of the Month could not be easier and is as follows: • Nomination form opened on SCB website on the 22nd May with nominations for Player of the Month sought from players, supporters and clubs.

• Nominations close on Tuesday June 2nd at midday and award panel meet to select top three players.

• The Player of the Month awards to be announced on Somerset Cricket Board and Somerset County Cricket Club website by Thursday 4th June.
