TAUNTON Town have announced the signing of former Bristol Rovers and Wales under 19 striker Josh Klein-Davies from divisional rivals Shortwood United.

Klein-Davies, 25, played for Rovers in his early years before going on to play for Weston-super-Mare, Weymouth, Mangotsfield United and Paulton Rovers.

The Peacocks have also signed 21-year-old former Cheltenham Town centre half, Charlie Hitchings, who joins from Yate Town.

The pair join fellow summer signings Craig Veal, Josh Searle, Michael Meaker and Nuno Felix at Wordsworth Drive.

Manager Leigh Robinson said: “I’m very pleased to be able to bring both Josh and Charlie to the club.

“Josh is a proven goal scorer in this league and the league above.

“He’s spent plenty of time playing well and scoring goals against Taunton, so it’s great to have him on our side now.

“His hold-up play is fantastic, which is a key attribute for the way we play, and I’m sure he’ll be a great success.

“Chaz is a big, strong centre half who can play a bit as well, having been brought through the academy at Cheltenham.

“He’s played plenty of football at this level so knows what it is all about and will give us a good deal of physicality.”

Two further new signings are due to be announced at the end of next week.
