TAUNTON Town were beaten 2-1 by Bodmin Town at the Viridor Stadium this evening (Friday) in their final home pre-season friendly.
Bodmin, the reigning South West Peninsula League champions, took the lead on seven minutes thanks to a Lee Doel strike, before Steve Bowker doubled the visitors’ lead on the half-hour mark.
Adam Kelly replied for Taunton from a free-kick on 36 minutes as boss Leigh Robinson had another chance to run the rule over his side before next weekend’s big kick-off.
The Peacocks head to Western League outfit Shepton Mallet on Monday evening (7.30pm) for their final warm-up clash – before their Southern League Division One South & West opener at Shortwood United a week tomorrow.
