TAUNTON are expecting another good-sized crowd for their meeting on Wednesday when the first action on the course is set to go to post at 1.05pm.
With 72 entries in the six-race card including an Open Hunters’ Steeple Chase, which has 16 runners and a going of good, good to soft in places, and the weather set fair, punters look set for another great afternoon’s racing.
All of the leading trainers have got horses running including Alan King (who had a double at the last meeting), Jonjo O Neil, Paul Nicholls, David Pipe, Philip Hobbs and Colin Tizzard - while Tom Scudamore, Richard Johnson, Daryl Jacob and Sam Twiston-Davies are all booked to ride.
The big race on the card, the Bathwick Tyres Handicap Chase, is a Class Three event at 2.10pm which is worth over £8k to the winner.
Qualando, ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies for the Nicholls yard, and Calett Mad under Jacob for Nigel Twiston-Davies are both likely to be in the frame.
Racegoers are reminded that a courtesy coach service picks up at Taunton Railway Station two hours before the first race and returns 30 minutes after the beginning of the last.
