South West Pilot League
Taunton Warriors 53, Drybrook 15

THE Warriors’ first game of 2017 was at home to Drybrook – the team was looking to carry on a fine run and they did not disappoint.

The Warriors ran in nine tries as they dominated the game and showed that, at home, they are certainly worth coming down to watch.

The pack were outstanding, working hard in both the set-piece and loose.

The back row were everywhere and turned over the opposition many times to set up counter-attacks.

In the lineout, lofty Sam Adcock soared high, while Gavin Down set up lots of quick ball for scrum-half Adam Conybear.

The backs enjoyed plenty of space, making huge dents in the defence, and Drybrook couldn’t handle the pace and power – but to be fair they never gave up, scoring a couple of good tries themselves.

The scorers for the Warriors were Charlie Tribble, Will Siddle, Ollie Graham, Dave Edwards, Joe Clark, Joe Lewis and Rory Willicombe.

Tom Claydon powered over for two of his own, while Andy Ford converted four.

The victory sees the Warriors go top of the league.
