TAUNTON Town will finally get their hands on the Evo-Stik Southern League trophy tomorrow, with the silverware being presented after their match with Bristol Manor Farm at the Viridor Stadium (ko 3pm).

Peacocks manager Leigh Robinson is hoping for a good home crowd at their title party, describing it as “the moment we’ve worked towards for a long time”.

He is also expecting an interesting contest, with visitors Manor Farm still hunting down Salisbury – their opponents on the final day of the season – for the second automatic promotion place behind champions Taunton.

The Peacocks extended their unbeaten league run to 31 matches this week, and should welcome back Ben Adelsbury and Dan Sullivan for this weekend, but Pierce Mitchell remains sidelined by injury.

“It should be an exciting game and an open one,” said Robinson.

“They’re looking to put pressure on Salisbury [Manor Farm being four points behind ahead of their game in hand last night] and set up a promotion decider, so they’ll be coming to try and win.

“The trophy is our motivation – we don’t want to lose before lifting it.”

Next Tuesday (ko 7.45pm), Taunton host Slimbridge, who lie in 20th spot, in their final home match of the season.
