Somerset Senior Cup: Nailsea Utd 4, Creech St Michael 2.

CREECH were left wondering what might have been after going down away to Somerset County League champions Nailsea.

They completely dominated the second half, but paid the price for poor defending which saw them trailing 4-0 at the interval. Creech more than matched Nailsea in terms of passing and possession but basic mistakes and lapses of concentration in the first half cost them dear.

The second period was a different story. They pulled a goal back ten minutes in when Dan James played Shaun Bresnahan through and he curled a shot into the top corner.

Creech continued to press and made it 4-2 with 20 minutes left when Kevin Gratton found the net with a beautifully struck free-kick from 25 yards out.

The visitors were now in with a chance but, despite piling on the pressure, found the Nailsea keeper in excellent form to shut them out.

Creech return to league action with a trip to Yatton this Saturday.
