Ladies' team at Staplegrove AFC

STAPLEGROVE Football Club have now entered a team for the first time into the Somerset County Women’s League.

The attendance at the training sessions has been good and the ladies were keen to form a team and play competitive matches.

Club secretary Nick Stilton said: “I have enjoyed their enthusiasm and keenest to learn the game and it is a great development for our club to be able to offer Ladies football.

“We have been joined a training sessions by ladies from the Taunton Town team who have helped tremendously by passing on their skills and knowledge to our girls who are mostly new to the game.

“We will be keeping our association going with Taunton Town Ladies, who play in a higher League to us, and plan to work closely together throughout the year.”

Nick added: “Whilst I would love to manage the ladies team my commitment to football is already at bursting point and I just can’t take on another role so we are keen to find somebody, male or female to operate as the ladies team manager.”

If anybody is interested please contact Nick on 01823-601418 or 07702 357831 or just turn up at Taunton Vale, Gypsy Lane, where they train on a Monday evening from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
