TEENAGE star Tommy Alba has moved up to fourth in the 2012 Maxxis British MXY2 Motocross Championships following two excellent rides in round three of the competition.
Alba, who is 15 and goes to Bishop Fox’s School, travelled to Northampton despite being laid low by glandular fever earlier in the week.
He didn’t have the best of starts in the opening race but battled his way through the field to take a deserved second place.
Alba, who is sponsored by Taunton building firm Oakleaf, enjoyed a better start in the second race, passing the early leader on the opening lap and easing away for a comfortable win.
