JAMIE Ward is the new first-team manager of Wellington AFC.

Ward led Taunton Town Under-18s to their league title last season and is a UEFA 'B' coach.

As a player, he made his name with Yeovil Town before joining Taunton and also represented England at semi-professional level.

Ward watched Wellington's 3-1 defeat at home to Chard last night and then met the club's committee after the game.

His first match in charge will be the FA Carlsberg Vase tie away to Barnstaple Town on Saturday.

Please for Jamie Ward, he did a fine job with Taunton's U18's last season and with a few of them now at Wellington there is good continuity there.

Hopefully he can continue the development of these youngsters and they can go on to have good careers higher up in the game.
