TABLE TENNIS: Two man Saints Raiders are good enough
SAINTS Raiders needed only two players to beat Ark Tigers 21-14 in the Taunton Table Tennis League's Premiership.
Alan Stoke and Ed Martin were 12 points down before they even lifted a bat but both managed to win all their games.
The only close game was a very tense five setter between Stoke and John Crabtree.
YMCA Kings maintained their strong form with a 25-14 win against YMCA Old Stars.
Mel Horner did his best, taking John Troke to five sets and Jon Hughes to four, but Kings were just too strong.
Levellers just edged a 22-12 win over Tiverton Ruggers. Levellers were 13-6 up at the half-way stage, but after a strong doubles win by the Ruggers, the match went down to the final three singles.
In the First Division, Saints Paradox have taken the early lead thanks to a 27-16 win against Team X.
Close behind are Tiverton Touchdowns, 30-14 winners over Motley Saints.
Monday Knights lost 25-18 to Golledge Eagles.
The tightest match in the division saw YMCA Marauders edge out and YMCA Rebels 23-22.
YMCA Reds have pulled out of the league allowing Saints Spinners to move up to the premier division.
