TAUNTON Town are hoping to be able to welcome back captain Brett Trowbridge as they travel to Slimbridge on Saturday (ko 3pm).

Trowbridge's heel injury has been given the allclear by a specialist, so he could come back into contention for Leigh Robinson's high-flyers for the match against their out of sorts opponents.

The Swans are currently on a six-game losing streak but drew 0-0 at the Viridor in November, a match about which Robinson said: “It was one of our best attacking performances of the season, we had so many chances, so we were disappointed.

“Slimbridge isn’t an easy place to go, with a heavy pitch – we had a narrow win there last season,” he added.

Robinson went on to say that it would have been a “travesty” if his side hadn’t beaten Wimborne Town on Tuesday night.

“For an hour we were in complete control,” he said, “but a goal from nowhere got them back in it.”

Lloyd Irish saved a spotkick to secure the win, Robinson adding: “It was justified, as it was never a penalty.”
