TAUNTON Town have added defender Josh Nelmes to their squad ahead of their trip to Paulton Rovers tonight (Tuesday).

The 23-year-old centre-half captained Cinderford Town to the Evo-Stik Southern League West title two seasons ago and joins from Mangotsfield United, who he had been with since September.

Subject to paperwork being processed in time, the Peacocks hope to include Nelmes in their squad for tonight's game.

Manager Leigh Robinson said: "He’s a terrific out and out defender who was magnificent when Cinderford won the league two years ago.

"We have plenty of players in this position now but I am keen to move Shane (White) into midfield as we’re asking a lot of our midfield trio at the moment, especially with so many games coming up.

"Josh has been signed firstly because we like him and secondly to free up some other players that we may need to play elsewhere.”

Taunton also hope to hand a debut to Exeter City loanee Joel Randall, who has been unavailable for the last two games due to commitments with his parent club.

Paulton, who have former Peacock Omar Simpson in their ranks, go into the match in 16th and lost 2-1 at Cirencester on Saturday, but Taunton will be wary of overconfidence having lost 2-1 in the corresponding fixture last season.
