TAUNTON Town's opponents next season have been revealed following the conclusion of the FA's re-shuffle of the non-league pyramid.

A new league has been introduced at Step 3, meaning the Southern Premier - as it was in 2017/18 - has been divided into 'Southern League Central' and 'Southern League South'.

The Peacoks will play in Southern League South alongside the following teams:

  • Banbury United
  • Basingstoke Town
  • Beaconsfield Town
  • Chesham United
  • Dorchester Town
  • Farnborough
  • Frome Town
  • Gosport Borough
  • Harrow Borough
  • Hartley Wintney
  • Hendon
  • Kings Langley
  • Merthyr Town
  • Metropolitan Poice
  • Poole Town
  • Salisbury
  • Staines Town
  • Swindon Supermarine
  • Taunton Town
  • Tiverton Town
  • Walton Casuals
  • Weymouth

The stand-out ties for Taunton are the trips to local rivals Tiverton Town and felllow Somerset outfit Frome Town, while they will also head to the Dorset coast for visits to Weymouth and Poole Town.

Not all clubs were overly happy with the allocation at the step below Taunton, with Cinderford placed in Southern League East and Didcot in Southern League West despite Cinderford being 70 miles west of Didcot.

Clubs have the right to appeal over the next seven days and decisions will be ratified at the Southern League AGM on June 23 before the league season commences on Saturday, August 11.
