FROM fancy dress to freefall and horseback, people are entering into the fundraising spirit to raise money for the County Gazette-backed It's Childsplay event on May 4.
The event, which is organised by the Taunton Vale Rotary Club, is to raise money for the two hospices run by Children's Hospice South-West - Little Bridge House, near Barnstaple, and Charlton Farm, near Bristol.
It's Childsplay will see participants start anywhere they like and get to the finish at Vivary Park in Taunton or Wellington Rugby Club some time between noon and 5pm.
Anyone taking part can choose how they get to the finish point, be it on foot, by horse, pushchair or wheel-chair. The event is open to all and it is hoped thousands of people will join in.
On Saturday, daredevil Janice King completed a parachute jump to raise over £5,000 for the cause.
Janice was keen to complete the jump by April 5 as her family were assembled for her mother's 90th birthday, which was celebrated later in the day.

She said: "I wanted to be able to thank the family for being so supportive, and to remember my father who died of cancer in April 1984."
Meanwhile, the Bradford Players are joining the fundraising effort in Taunton by completing a walk in their pantomime costumes or other fancy dress.
There is also a confirmed entry on horseback taking part in the Wellington event.
Participants on May 4 have to raise at least £10 in sponsorship and everyone who registers will get a free T-shirt to wear on the day.
Entrants should pre-register by post to: Jas Shorney, Lyddons Mead, Nails-bourne, Taunton, TA2 8AF; or by e-mail to childsplay@colourtone.co .uk or on-line at www.tauntonvalerotary.org
There will also be five designated starting points where you can register on the day.
