11:37am Thursday 7th February 2008
JACK Hull, who died on January 15, aged 84 years was widely known in Taunton for his involvement with the amateur stage. He had been a member of Taunton Amateur Operatic Society since 1949 and had taken part in most productions from then until a few years ago. He played many minor roles and sang in the chorus and had played Colonel Pickering in My Fair Lady, Mr Snow in Carousel and Captain Andy in Showboat, when the Gazette headline ran "Captain Andy is Star."
