Barrington Court: hidden nature trail, Saturday, May 24-Sunday, June 1, 11am-5pm (excluding Wednesdays), run around and use up some energy and win a small prize when you finish the trail.
Brean Down / Fyne Court / Glastonbury Tor / Holnicote Estate: Somerset National Trust Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition, closing date June 30, free to enter, categories: children under 14, young people 15- 20 and adults (amateur). Holnicote Estate: 200 Years Ago on Selworthy Green, Wednesday, May 28, 10am-4pm, park in the Selworthy overflow car park SS922468; a family day on Selworthy Green to celebrate its heritage and wildlife, story telling, thatching, art workshops, spinning, blacksmithing and lots of hands on activities for adults and children alike, all in the setting of 200 years ago; booking essential 01643-862452, adult £4, child £1.
Lytes Cary Manor: dawn chorus walk, Saturday, May 3, 6am, celebrate National Dawn Chorus Day, and be awakened this spring by the piercing melody of the dawn chorus; look out for farmland birds from reed buntings to skylarks, as well as other wildlife such as hare and deer. Round off the experience with a cooked breakfast, adult £10, booking essential 0871 527 1885.
Montacute House: Pest Detectives, Wednesday May 28-31, 11am-4pm, learn how the NT looks after Montacute House and protects the fantastic collection from bugs, light damage and other damaging forces; normal admission applies.
Prior Park Landscape Garden: Coming to our Senses, Saturday, May 3, 11am-1pm; landscape gardens were designed to stimulate the senses, explore this concept at Prior Park with the head gardener; all tickets £5, booking essential 01225-833977.
Tyntesfield: guided tour of first floor rooms, Tuesday and Saturday during March- September, 10.15-11.15am, please take your tickets to visitor reception on arrival. The first chance to see some of the family bedrooms on the first floor (the rooms are still part of the ongoing conservation project at Tyntesfield so their presentation may change from week to week), all tickets £10, booking essential 0871 527 1885.
