John Kenneth Evemy

EVEMY John Kenneth In Loving Memory 1930 2019 John Kenneth Evemy, passed away 19th December and is now with the Lord and reunited with his beloved wife Gloria. Much loved and respected by family and friends at home, in Mallorca and in America, he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his children, David and Sheridan and his adoring grandchildren Carina, Belen, Andrew and Carolyn. Devoted to his family, he personified the phrase "a life well lived". Professionally, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1952 and immediately his zest for life led him for a stint with Cooper Bros. in Nairobi, Kenya. East Africa in the 50's was extraordinary. He returned home to Taunton and joined AC Mole in 1961. His career with the firm was exemplary and he succeeded Peter Shapland and became Senior Partner in 1991. Among other notable professional achievements, he contributed as Treasurer of Somerset CCC, just prior to "the glory days of Botham, Richards and Garner", Treasurer of the CCC Museum and as President of the SW Chartered Accountants Institute. He was an accomplished musician, just recently performing his own "Musical Life Story" with his favourite pieces dating back to his first recitals at Blundells School. His passion for music was perhaps best expressed through his love for singing with The West Somerset Singers. He sang and performed with this lovely choir for over seven decades! He also loved his sport; Taunton Titans (winger) and Somerset Cricket; and he loved his golf, especially the Thursday morning group at Pickeridge. He was the person who was "always there" in good times and in sad times. But most of all, he was Papa, just a lovely man, who was simply adored wherever he went. Funeral Service will take place at Taunton Deane Crematorium on Saturday 18th January at 11.00am. In lieu of flowers donations for The Beacon Centre (Musgrove Park Hospital) may be given at the service or alternatively sent to E. White & Son Ltd. Funeral Directors, 138/139 East Reach, Taunton TA1 3HN
