Temporary Traffic Management Order of George Street, West Bay
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 23 July 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the restrictions will end by 4 October 2021.
This Order will enable Bridport Town Council, safe access to provide additional
pedestrian area.
The effect of this order will be;
[1] To revoke 2 way traffic flow on George Street from its junction with North Side
Basin for a distance of approximately 30 metres. [2] To impose temporary one way road closure southbound on George Street from
its junction with the bus service road to its junction with North Side Basin for a
distance of approximately 30 metres. [3] To impose temporary one way system on George Street from its junction with
North Side Basin for a distance of approximately 30 metres. [4] To impose one way access, eastbound, to all traffic on existing bus service road
from its junction with George Street [5] To impose clearway on George Street from its junction with North Side Basin for
