Temporary Closure of South Street

Somerset County Council In exercise of Its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along South Street - from the junction with Wellesley Park, south eastwards for a total distance of 150 metres. This Order will enable BT Openreach to carry out poling works.
The Order becomes effective on 21st April 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 24th April 2022 and last until 24th April 2022 between the hours of 08:00 -16:00 for a total of 8 hours.

Statement of Reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
