Temporary Closure of Gillards

Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Gillards - from outside no 11 Gillards to outside number 53 Gillards for a distance of 88 metres and from outside no 15 to to outside no 25 Gillards for a distance of 39 metres, for a total distance of 127 metres

This Order will enable Jurassic Fibre to carry out works to dig and trench an overlay to fit new fibre cabling.

The Order becomes effective on 19 May 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 23 May 2022 and last until 7 June 2022 between the hours of 00:00 -23:59 for a total of 16 days. There is no alternative route for this closure. a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
