Temporary Closure of Foyle Hill, Shaftesbury

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along FOYLE HILL, SHAFTESBURY from the junction and where the road meets with St John's Hill in a westerly direction (in both directions), a distance of approximately 235 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 25 July 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 August 2022
This Order will enable Wessex Water, to replace existing 3" PVC water main as it is degrading causing regular burst (5 in the last 2yrs) and effecting customers supplies. An alternative vehicular route will be signed using: St John's Hill - Cole's Lane.
