PARISH OF NORTH PETHERTON Temporary Closure of Footpaths BW 23/78 and BW 23/83 order 2018 TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the County Council of Somerset has made an Order PROHIBITING ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along Footpath BW 23/78 from Crossways swing-bridge in a north westerly direction on the southern side of the canal for approximately 650 metres to Hamp Bridge and part of footpath BW 23/83 from Crossways swing-bridge in a south easterly direction on the northern side of the canal for approximately 500 metres to swing-bridge at the Boat and Anchor Inn whilst the new bridge over the canal is being constructed.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES Whilst these closures are in place, alternative routes will be available along the northern and southern sides of the canal. The Order will come into effect on 1 October 2018 and will remain in force for six months although the paths should only be closed for 15 weeks.
