ONE of the greatest issues facing dairy farmers at the moment is balancing the cost of feeding their cows against a fluctuating milk price.

Margins are always tight, so finding new ways to increase efficiency while maintaining or increasing production are always welcome.

To help with this Halse South West have teamed up with OPICO to bring together dairy farmers from the North Devon area for an informative evening of presentations and discussion.

Sarah Bolt, from independent dairy consultants, Kingshay, will be speaking on the subject of maximising dry matter intake when feeding dairy cows.

This will be followed by James Swan from OPICO speaking on the latest technological developments in the Strautmann range of forage harvesting and feeding machinery and how these can provide smarter herd management solutions, while helping to deliver increased efficiency.

It will be held at The Bell, Chittlehampton, Umberleigh, EX37 9QL on February 12 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

RSVP to Halse South West, or call or text Dennis Norman on 07891 883349 or James Swan on 07903 192377.
