DORSET County Show organisers are encouraging local businesses to take part in ‘Dorchester Street’ at this year’s Show on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September.

The Show, which attracts an average of 60,000 visitors each year, is introducing ‘Dorchester Street’ to its 2019 offering. The dedicated trade avenue will encourage show-goers to support local businesses, as well as give them the opportunity to discover what’s available in the town throughout the year.

Will Hyde, show secretary, said: “Supporting local businesses is really important to us as a society. We are lucky to have so many great retailers, food producers, artists, and more on our doorstep, that we felt they should have their own showcase area within the showground.”

‘Dorchester Street’ will be located in the heart of the trade avenues on the Dorchester Showground. Pitches start from just over £300, depending on the size required.

Phil Gordon, project director of Dorchester BID, said: “The BID is delighted to support this great new initiative by the Dorset County Show to showcase some of the best local businesses in Dorchester, in their appropriately named ‘Dorchester Street’ at this year’s Show. I hope that this new quarter will develop over the coming years and become a great showcase for the shops and businesses in town.”
