Greenslade Taylor Hunt report an excellent entry this week in front of a smaller crowd, when many were silaging, saw an improved trade due to those in attendance being very keen.

A non pedigree heifer from M & K Churchill & Son sold to an impressive £2130. Others to £1900 for a pedigree heifer from Arrijan Farming Ltd. Others £1860 AP Ractliffe; £1850 JH & SA Denbee; £1810 JG Morgan; £1800 PA Cleeve; £1780

Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a smaller entry of 578 store cattle, part of 947 with the stirks, sucklers and grazers, met a good trade for the best although stronger cattle were again in short supply. “Out of spec” cattle continue to be met with resistance particularly those which are small for their age.

Greenslade Taylor Hunt report an entry of 353 stirks when a high proportion of smaller stirks were forward saw a good trade for the best, but the second quality met some resistance from buyers.

Another massive entry of 1968 cull ewes and rams sold to a stand on trade, especially for the leaner and medium ewes. Best continental ewes sold to £137 from E Davis, when others sold to £120 from the same Vendor. Other best shaped ewes to £120 from K George; £106 and £101 from R Matthews; £100 from AB & GR Dodgson, NF Clothier & Sons Ltd, SR & MS Ball, MA Milton, D Marshall and MA Johnson Ltd and £98 from T Newth. Numbers starting to decline, when 222 ewes and 309 lambs at foot were forward. Yet another outstanding run from JH & HJ Diment sold their doubles to £259 (£86.33/life).
