Kivells of Holsworthy saw 60 dairy cattle for the 2019 Dairy Event with a top call of £2,400 given for a smart cow in from Messrs Faulkner of North Devon.
256 baby calves saw a strong trade with the best being a Blue bull in from Messrs Bradley farm partnership of Hallworthy with the same farm topping heifers at £330.
127 store cattle saw the best steers to £1,035 in from AW Shadrick of Kilkhampton with heifers to £875 for DJ Weeks.
Best prime steers hit £1,210 for Eric Partridge of Woolsery with several between £1,100 - £1,200. 793 lambs saw the better trade continue with a top call of 100 for Bond Farming of St Germans with £92 from Andy Melville and premium on the day set at 204p.kg for TL Cobbledick.
259 store lambs saw a continued ‘flying trade’ with the best to £74 for Mike Harris of Winkleigh and a market average of £65.50.
388 cull sheep saw the best to £101 for Messrs Rice of Coombe Martin with rams to £89 for Messrs Pearce & Son. Just one load of straw sold today at £62 p/kg for Wheat.
