Top was 206ppk for a shapely leaner black Limousin steer from J & S Vinnicombe & Son, Ottery St Mary, who sold a heavier fleshed red Limousin steer at 192.5ppk. Lightweight, very shapely black Limousin steer at 196.5ppk from MJ Tuckett & Partners, Exeter, who sold further mediumweight black Limousin steers at 195 and 189.5ppk, a heavyweight Charolais at 191.5ppk and further lightweight steers at 193.5 and 191ppk. Heavyweight Limousin steers at 195.5 and 188.5ppk from JF Walker & Partners, North Petherton. Mediumweight Limousin at 194ppk from L & A Maddock & Co, Wiveliscombe. Mediumweight Blue at 192.5ppk from SER Hunt, Kilve and a heavyweight Charolais at 190ppk from R & G Speed, Axminster.

Native steers rose to 193.5ppk for an Angus from RE & CE Darby, Nynehead. Further Angus 189.5ppk from BJ Wallbridge & Son, Toller Porcorum.

Steers sold to £1,411.85 for a Blue (755kg) from SJB Adams & Son, Rhode, who sold another at £1,302.57 (706kg). Heavyweight continental steers at £1,372.28 (Limousin, 728kg) £1,370.17 (Blue, 757kg) £1,339.18 (Limousin, 685kg) £1,330.81 (Blue, 754kg) and £1,267.36 (Blue, 712kg) all from JF Walker & Partners.

Charolais at £1,269.65 (663kg) from MJ Tuckett & Partners. Further Blue at £1,264.73 (693kg) from CG, GR & MS Spiller, Upottery. Further Charolais at £1,242.60 (654kg) from R & G Speed.

Heifers topped at 201.5ppk for a shapely dunn Limousin from J & S Vinnicombe & Son again, who sold a similar red at 193.5. Very shapely black Limousin (only 16m) from SER Hunt, Kilve at 201.5ppk, who sold another not quite so shapely at 195ppk. Quality Charolais at 192.5ppk from L & A Maddock & Co, Wiveliscombe, who sold a good, gold Charolais at 190ppk. Further good, gold Charolais at 189ppk from BA Richards, Williton. Good grey Charolais at 187ppk from MJ Tuckett & Partners.

Native heifers met calls of 186.5 and 186ppk from both BJ Wallbridge & Son again.

Heifers sold to £1,273.86 for a Charolais (674kg) from BA Richards, who sold others at £1,266.72 (696kg) and £1,096.95 (618kg). Limousins at £1,248.21 (621kg) and £1,132.95 (581kg) from SER Hunt. Some really smart types on offer to push prices on to a top of 176.5ppk for a Limousin slip from MJ & C Plowright & Son, Stogursey, who sold others at 159.5 and 142.5ppk. Shapely Limousin cows at 167.5ppk, S Francis, Glastonbury; 143.5ppk, P & S Watts & Partners, Wookey; 138.5 and 136.5ppk, JM & JM Baker, Glastonbury. Native cows rose to 137.5ppk for an Angus from P & S Watts & Partners again. Pure bred Angus at 134.5 and 133.5ppk from CJ & JLM Hutchings & Sons, Kingsbrompton. The best sold to 248ppk from K & N Crang. Others 244 and 238ppk from KJ Seymour; 242ppk from AF & RD Tucker & Sons; 241ppk from CHJ Atwell & Sons and LA McAllister; 240ppk from JA Dyer; 239ppk from HM & KI Stowell & Son, J Sprake & Partners, MJ Frampton & Sons and K Gribble and 238ppk from RC Stock (2x) and AJB Farm Partners.
