A free sheep show is to take place virtually so fun competition can continue, despite lockdown.

Entries are now open for the Exmoor Horn Sheep Breeders Society (EHSBS) Virtual Sheep Show which closes on Saturday, June 27 at 10am.

The society wants to make the event as simple as possible so there's no charge for entry, no prize money and no rosettes.

The idea is for it to be a bit of fun and hopefully it will attract a large number of entries.

As you check the sheep each day why not start taking some photos in attempt to capture a photograph of the sheep of your choice in the perfect pose.

The show will have six classes:

Class 1: Ram (any age)

Class 2: Ram Lamb

Class 3: Ewe (any age)

Class 4: Ewe Lamb

Class 5: Junior Handler (up to 10)

Class 6: Junior Handler (11 to 16)

There are just a couple of simple rules:

  • No professional photos
  • Photos must have been taken in 2020
  • No sheep photographed adorning rosettes
  • Class 1 to 4: each entry to comprise of one photo, side on
  • Class 5 & 6: each entry to comprise of one photo in a pose which best shows off the Junior Handler and their sheep
  • Open to all members of the EHSBS and their family members and each sheep entered must be registered with the EHSBS

President Mrs Lillian Harding will judge all six classes and the results will be available by 4pm on June 27.

To enter simply comment or reply with a photo of your entry to the post for the class or classes you have chosen to enter.

Only the photo is required, no additional words or text should be included in your reply or comment.
