Greenslade Taylor Hunt report over double the entry of the previous week but demand continued, although maybe not quite the sparkle in the trade of the past couple of weeks.

11 still over the £1900 mark and exceeded £2000 twice, with more still able to be sold.

The trade topped at £2050 for a Yfarm bred Pedigree heifer from A & W Vigus. J Denbee sold a smart commercial heifer at £2040. J Snook sold two commercial heifers at £1980 and £1950. Pedigree heifers from DWT, EG & PW Jones sold to £1980 and £1940 from their Redford herd, both sired by Westcoast Perseus. P Jones’ Redford herd also topped the cow section at £1880 and £1820. Dispersal cows from J Leggatt & Son sold to £1620. A lot of Friesian type heifers forward topped at £1500 from J Snook. White Park heifers sold to £1150 from MC Powell. Calves to £180 from GJ & FL Robertson.

Greenslade Taylor Hunt report Wow! What a trade. 872 penned part of 1368 with the stirks and sucklers and all sold really well. All stores averaged £872 compared with £770.50 last year, when 650 were sold.

Greenslade Taylor Hunt report the first suckler sale of the month included a large number of native cows and calves and drew purchasers from across the West, Wales and Hereford and an excellent trade ensued considering the recent lack of rain.

Charolais bulls from DT Daniels ‘Maxworthy’ Herd sold for £2650, when other Charolais sold at £2600 from A Cowling. March 2019 born Limousin bull ‘Carsmark Pageant’ sold for £2100 from JC & JCM Carroll. Angus bulls from KMS & ME Dew at £2050 and commercial British Blue bulls £2000 from JA Naish.

An excellent run of pedigree Limousins from CJ & JC Durston sold to £2180 for Rushlin Melody with her March born steer calf at foot and £2000 for Rushlin Linda with pedigree March born heifer calf at foot. Other continentals to £1950 for British Blue cross heifer with May born steer calf at foot from RF Drake.

Native cows to £1550 for a pedigree Shorthorn heifer with Hereford cross heifer calf from DJ & VM Norman and £1480 from the same Vendor. A large number of Hereford cross cows and heifers met a constant trade and sold to £1380 for 2016 cow with March heifer calf from B Calder and £1290 for same aged cow with AAx heifer calf April born from MA & SS Sanders. Trade continues to be competitive with demand for all classes, albeit selective in places. NF George’s usual quality consignment topped the day with reared Blue bulls to £452 (2x) £412 (3x) and £370 (3x). Younger Blue bulls to £428 from Short Bros & Son; £370 from MC Powell and SJ Perry. Simmental bulls up to £382 from R Hares; £360 and £340 from PT Bale & Son. Young Limousin bulls to £370 from LG Heal & Son and £335 from DA & WG Jones. Numbers of couples starting to decline, when a tight entry of 75 ewes with 93 lambs at foot was penned. Top call went to JH & HJ Diment once again for their doubles which sold at £220 (£73.33/life) and £212 (£70.66/life). Others to £190 (£63.33/life) from M Kidner and £165 (£55/life) from RG Stitch.
