Two tractor fires occurred in Devon in less than two hours on Wednesday.

The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was called to Seven Crosses Road in Tiverton at 12.12pm on Wednesday, June 17.

Two appliances were sent and the crew used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and small tools to extinguish the fire.

Sadly, seventy per cent of the tractor was fire damaged.

The cause was deemed accidental.

Less than two hours later, at 13.52pm, the fire service was called to a second tractor on fire on the A379 at Alphington.

Fire Control sent two fire engines - one from Middlemoor and the other from Danes Castle.

When the crew got to the scene the officer in charge confirmed one tractor to be well alight on public highway.

The crew got to work to extinguish the fire with the use of a hose reel jet, a compressed air foam jet, a safety jet, a water bowser and a thermal imaging camera.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
