Firefighters from Liskeard, Lostwithiel, Looe, Bodmin, Polruan and Launceston were called out to a barn fire near Herodsfoot yesterday morning (Sunday June 28).
They used six pumps, a water carrier and a command unit to tackle a blaze measuring 20 metres by 8 metres.

A spokesperson from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "The barn is well alight and there are hay bales nearby.

"Firefighting is being hampered by live cables from solar panels. Firefighters are using hosereel jets to protect the hay bales and preventing them becoming involved."
Western Power isolated the electricity and firefighters used two main jets and four breathing apparatus. Crew remained on the scene monitoring after breathing apparatus was withdrawn.
