FIREFIGHTERS rescued this baby deer from a water-filled ditch before it ran off for a reunion with its mother.
Fire crews were called by a concerned member of the public to the incident in Lower Stoford Lane, Bradford-on-Tone on Saturday lunchtime.
A crew from Taunton along with a specialist tactical advisor were mobilised to the scene.
The firefighters, assisted by the member of the public, carefully freed the deer and took care of it while they awaited the arrival of an RSPCA inspector.
The inspector remained on the scene monitoring the deer from a distance until it got to its feet and ran off to safety.
The inspector believes the mother would have been close by.
