A recent dispersal sale of farm machinery near Bodmin topped at £37,200 for a John Deere 6125(R) tractor.

The sale was on behalf of the Harris family of Tregooden Farm at St Tudy on Saturday, October 10.

Overall top call of the day was £37,200 given for the ‘14 plate John Deere 6125(R) tractor having done 5,700 hrs and going off to its new home near Padstow.

Next up was the JD 6630 premium having done 8,300 hrs and powering away to £26,400 with the Case JX60 (yard scrape tractor) ’05 reg at £6,500.

Speaking after the sale, director of Kivells, who were the auctioneers for the sale, David Kivell said: “It was a very pleasing sale of behalf of the Harris Family who have sold their stock with us at Holsworthy Market for many years.

"Whilst wishing them the best of luck for their future we also welcome the new tenants on the farm and wish them great success.”

In the machinery department, the feeder wagon topped at £10,500 going down to Callington and the best of the grain trailers at £4,000 going up to Roborough in North Devon with loyal Kivells’ customer Derek Challacombe.

The Claas mower/conditioner hit £3,650 with the five furrow plough cutting through to a very respectable £3,500.

More than 10 lots of granite posts saw a top call of £200 with £225 given for the generator, £200 for the volume purep and the best of the cattle feeder barriers to £150.

Several ‘outside’ vendors today saw a near clearance with the 6m drill in from Messrs White of Penwine Farm topping at £2,900 with the grass harrows on behalf of Andrew Brewer of Boscastle at £1,600.
