Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is urging motorists not to treat rural roads across the two counties like racetracks, in a bid to reduce the number of crashes that happen.
A spokesperson said: "Dorset and Wiltshire have many rural roads. Sadly too many people are seriously injured or killed in road traffic collisions on these roads every year. Wherever you are going, for whatever reason, there is no excuse to speed."
A spokesperson for Brake, the road safety charity, added: "Whatever road you drive on, remember who you share the road with. Always drive at a safe speed for the road conditions and never exceed speed limits."
