Two people had to be rescued from their vehicle and a woman was treated on the scene following a crash between a tractor a car in North Devon this afternoon (April 22).

At just before 2pm fire crews were called to Acland Road in Landkey to attend the collision between tractor and car.

Two fire appliances from Barnstaple and a heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor attended.

On arrival, the incident commander assessed the scene and confirmed that two persons had been released from the vehicle by firefighters.

Therefore, the heavy rescue tender was stood down.

A woman received medical attention at the scene but there were no other injuries reported.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "All persons free and clear of the vehicle with minor injuries only. The casualty was treated on scene by South Western Ambulance Service."
