PHOTOGRAPHY will come into focus this April at Ilminster Arts Centre with an exhibition showcasing photography in its many guises - from traditional black and white darkroom prints to state of the art digital images.
The Arts Centre is inviting entries from professional and amateur photographers for the Ilminister Photographic Open 2018.
This is a biennial open competition that promotes photography as an expressive fine art medium and displays the latest developments in contemporary photography in the South West.
Subject matter can be as varied and individual as the photographers themselves and the exhibition offers an opportunity for visitors to see photography that uses experimental processes as well as more traditional methods.
Cash prizes are offered for the overall winning picture and two runners up, and there is also a Visitors’ Choice award, given to the photograph voted ‘best in show’ by visitors.
The exhibition will be held at the Arts Centre from Monday, April 9 - Friday, April 27.
Entry forms are available at the Arts Centre, or can be downloaded from themeetinghouse.org.uk
The deadline for all entries is Monday, March 26.
