MILVERTON Amateur Dramatic Society is having Hallowe’en at Christmas.
They have plumped to go for a Gothic horror show inspired by Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein instead of a pantomime.
The society does not usually perform a pantomime every year and this year decided as it was non-panto to celebrate the 200th anniversary of this novel with a twist in their show called Frankenfest.
This is set to be a big all singing all dancing plus laughter galore in this variety show aimed at all the family.
Ginney May from the group said: “We are inviting a number of groups to submit sketches and these will be linked together to produce a script for a variety show.
“There will be something for everyone. There will be three performances, one on Thursday, November 22; and the performances on Friday and Saturday (matinee as well) evening will give people the opportunity to buy food as well.
“We hope everyone who comes along has a happy time.
I love Hallowe’en and it will be good for people who have a Hallowe’en costume it can be used again in the show. It helps us keep costs down.
“There will be a lot for kids dressing up as monsters.”
One of the people who has submitted a sketch for the show is Angie Sage the author of the Septimus Heap series of children’s books
