TAUNTON Live Yarnbombing is well and truly here with knitted and crocheted creations popping up all over town.

Knit and natter groups get together all year round to put on their glorious themed yarnscapes as well as offering a great support network with a warm, friendly and fun environment.

Last week, three independent Creative judges, Pat Mayhew, Jonet Middleton and Philippa Reid got together and visited all the displays to come up with this year’s winners.

The judges deliberated but after a few quibbles all agreed that Note-Orious Music with their ‘Underwater’ theme should win first prize, Silver Street Baptist Church second and Priorswood Community Centre ‘Priorswood in Bloom’ to win third.

Kathy Ford and The Bishops Lydeard Yarnbombers won a special award for ‘Community Spirit’ for their continued woollen art creations during key events throughout the Town centre as well as in Bishops Lydeard for Somerset Day celebrations.

Huge congratulations to all the yarnbombing groups for another years incredible display and special thanks to Marcia Hill for coordinating the groups, to ‘The Cosy Club’ and ‘And Sew to Knit’ for their generous donations of wool.
