TAUNTON Live 2018 will once again bring the Arts to the streets of Taunton for a 4th year in July.

Putting on an incredible programme of events celebrating the creative & performing Arts during the whole month of July.

The ‘Big Saturday’ will take place on Saturday, July 21, on Goodlands Gardens, where we will celebrate an exciting day showcasing Live local Music, Dance, Poetry, Drawing, Sculpture, & Community Arts projects as well as offering free Creative workshops for all the family.

n Somerset Opera present Carmen

CARMEN is set in southern Spain and tells the story of the downfall of Don José, a naïve soldier who is seduced by the wiles of the fiery gypsy Carmen. José abandons his childhood sweetheart and deserts from his military duties, yet loses Carmen’s love to the glamorous matador Escamillo, after which José kills her in a jealous rage.

Prices are revised this year Adults £20, Eassy Access £20, 16 and Under £10

n Taunton’s Got Talent 2018

Taunton Live- The Creative & Performing Arts Festival’ are super excited to announce ‘Taunton’s Got Talent 2018’ will be hosted in Mecca Bingo (formerly the Gaumont Theatre) where all these incredible musicians performed.

As well as this incredible opportunity the winning act will receive the Taunton’s Got Talent 2018 Trophy and a Cash prize of £500.

This is the final of Taunton’s Got Talent and it all takes place at Mecca Bingo, Taunton.

n Hestercombe Summer Family Trail: Gertrude’s Garden

OVER 100 years ago, it was the task of plantswoman Gertrude Jekyll to fill Hestercombe’s Formal Garden with a dazzling display of plants, climbers and shrubs.

Follow in her footsteps as you work your way around this summer trail by filling your trail sheet with the flowers you find.

From lavender to irises and clematis to gladioli, you’ll discover plenty of plants to grow your own garden design with.

Head back to Hestercombe House after completing the trail to visit the Portman Room, where you can find items that once belonged to the great gardener Gertrude Jekyll herself.

Pick up a trail sheet when you arrive at the Visitor Reception. Trail is 50p per child. Normal admission applies.
