A CALL has gone out from Dulverton Heritage Centre as it is working on the creation of next year’s exhibition to celebrate the 150th ann-iversary of Lorna Doone by R.D. Blackmore.

Part of the exhibition will focus upon ‘Lorna Doone on Stage and Screen’ including the making of two BBC television series, one in 1963 and in 1976, both filmed on Exmoor.

A spokesperson for the Heritage Centre said: “Hopefully, amongst the people of Exmoor there are some who remember the filming of these productions. Best of all, they were extras and actively involved in the drama. We would love to hear from anyone who has memories of these BBC visits and who has photographs taken in 1963 or 1976.”

In 1930, a Lorna Doone pageant was staged in the village of Selworthy.
